Privacy Policy
Effective date: 1 April 2026 | Last updated: 9 April 2026
TruLedger is developed and operated by Salima Gani Shaikh ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with your use of the TruLedger application, our website, billing flows, and related services.
Standard Windows desktop workflows are offline first. When used in desktop mode, workspace records are stored locally on the desktop. When used in a hosted or API deployment the files are processed on the servers belonging to that deployment.
Contents
1. Offline-First Desktop Workflows
TruLedger is built for confidentiality-sensitive accounting workflows. Core desktop workflows are designed to run locally on Windows, but the product should not be described as universally offline in every deployment mode.
Desktop workflows are offline-first, while licensing, updates, and hosted/API deployments may use network connectivity.
2. Local Processing & Storage
- In desktop mode, workspace records and related local state are stored on your Windows machine.
- Core desktop tasks such as supported PDF conversion, invoice generation, receipt generation, GSTIN structure checks, and related local workspace features can run locally.
- If you use a hosted or API deployment, uploaded files are processed on server infrastructure for that deployment.
3. Application Signals and Service Usage
This policy does not promise zero network activity or zero telemetry across every deployment mode. Desktop workflows can run locally, but website, billing, licensing, update, and hosted/API services may generate normal operational traffic and service logs.
We do not use this policy to claim that all data always stays on one device regardless of deployment choice.
4. License Validation and Internet Usage
The desktop application may connect to the internet for licensing, updates, billing-related service checks, and related product services. Hosted/API deployments also rely on network and server infrastructure by design.
Financial document processing behavior depends on the deployment mode you choose.
5. Information We Collect (Website & Billing)
Account registration: When you create an account or purchase a license, we may collect your name, email address, and billing information. Payments are processed through our payment providers, and we do not store full payment card details.
Website visitors: Standard website and server logs may record information such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited for security, operations, and service administration.
6. Data Sharing & Security
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share limited information with service providers who help us operate billing, email delivery, hosting, or related business functions.
We use HTTPS for web communications and apply reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the services we operate.
7. Your Rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India), you may have the right to access the personal billing or account data we hold about you, correct inaccurate or incomplete data, and request erasure of website account data subject to applicable legal retention requirements.
To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.
